Dog's photoshoot

I've been volunteering at the dog shelter SPCA for over a year, walking dogs and participating in their dog-mentor program. During this summer, I had also the chance to volunteer as photographer!

First, I took pictures during a Dog Behavior Workshop led by the dog trainer Dr Nee Kang (cheerfuldogs.com). I had previously helped in other of her workshops doing an exercise with Dhoby, but I think being the photographer fitted me better.

Ya hace algo mas de un año que voy como voluntaria al refugio de animales SPCA, paseajdo perros y en el programa "dog-mentor". Este verano, ademas, he tenido la oportunidad de ayudar como fotografa!

Primero hice las fotos durante un taller sobre Comportamiento de perros, conducido por la entrenadora de perros  Dr Nee Kang (cheerfuldogs.com). Ya habia ayudado en otro de sus talleres haciendo un ejercicio con Dhoby, pero creo que prefiero ayudar haciendo las fotos.

And last Saturday with did a "glamour photoshoot" with some of the dogs. It was really fun!!! I had the chance to meet some of the mentors I had never talked to before, and of course their lovely mentees. Some of the scenes were specially fun, like major wearing the "army" stuff or Minty and her mentor busking at an overhead bridge.

Y el sabado pasado hicimos una sesion fotografica con algunos de los perros. Fue muy divertido!!! Tuve ademas la oportunidad de hablar con algunos de los otros "mentors" a los que no conocia, y por supuesto a todos los "mentees". Algunas de las representaciones fueron realmente divertidas, como Major y sus complementos de la armada o Minty y su mentor tocando la guitarra en un puente.

I'm back!

I took two months vacation instead of one, but here I am again :)
I had a great time in Spain and will be posting some picture I took there shortly. Since I returned to Singapore, I didn't take many pictures, but a couple of weekends ago I volunteer as photographer in a workshop the SPCA organized, and I'll be helping them too to take some photos of the dogs. I'll post some of those pictures too.
Since the "1 year, 365 photos" project is over, I should rename the blog, but I don't know which one, any suggestions?
I won't be posting every day now, but I'll try to do it once a week, so see you soon!


Al final me he cogido dos meses de vacaciones en lugar de uno, pero ya he vuelto :)
En España lo pase muy bien, y mas tarde pondre algunas de las fotos que hice alli. Desde que volvi a Singapur no he hecho muchas, pero hace un par de semanas fui la fotografa en un taller organizado por la SPCA, y voy a ayudarles tambien a hacerles fotos nuevas a los perros. Tambien pondre algunas de esas fotos.
Como el proyecto "1 año, 365 fotos" ya se ha acabado, deberia ponerle otro nombre al blog, pero no se cual, alguna sugerencia?
Ya no voy a escribir o publicar fotos cada dia, pero intentare hacerlo una vez a la semana, asi que hasta pronto!

I can believe I finished it!!! I changed rules several times during the process, was always late in posting the pictures and was about to quite a couple of times. But my main goal was to finish it, and here we are!!!!! Besides, I think I improved my photography skills and took photos I like very much and wouldn't have without this project.

Thank you all for following me during this year :) I have enjoyed it very much and I'll keep taking pictures and posting them after my holidays in Spain, where I hope to take nice shots.


Por fin lo he terminado!!!! He cambiado las reglas varias veces durante el proceso, he publicado las fotos siempre con retraso y he estado a punto de dejarlo un par de veces. Pero mi principal objetivo era acabarlo, y lo he hecho!!! Ademas, creo que he mejorado haciendo fotos y he hecho algunas que me gustan mucho y no hubiera hecho si no hubiera estado haciendo este proyecto.

Gracias a los que lo habeis seguido :) Ha sido divertido y sin duda seguire haciendo fotos y publicandolas aqui, pero ya despues de mis vacaciones en España, donde sin duda saldre a hacer algunas.

I planned another picture for the last day, but weather didn't help. However, I like this one very much, and I still have plenty of time to take that picture before leaving Singapore.

Habia planeado otra foto para el ultimo dia, pero el tiempo no ha ayudado. Pero esta me gusta mucho, y aun tengo tiempo antes de irme de Singapur para hacer la otra.

I finally tried using Photoshop! I liked the picture, but since the background was green too, the plant didn't stand out very much. So we thought about using this B&W with a color. Not bad for the first time, what do you think?

Por fin me he decidido a usar Photoshop! Me gustaba esta foto, pero como el fondo tambien era verde, la planta no destacaba mucho. Asi que pensamos en utilizar el blanco y negro con un color. No esta mal para ser la primera vez, que os parece?

One more of windows, I know..... But I liked the colorful window glasses and the light of the early morning after the rain.

Otra mas de ventanas, lo se.... pero me gustaban los cristales de colores y la luz de la mañana despues de la lluvia.

I went with the photography group for an outing to Balestier Road. It was a very nice walk, and we all got great pictures. This monk was praying in one of the many temple we visited.

Hemos tenido salida con el grupo de fotografia al barrio de Balestier. Ha sido un bonito paseo, y todas hemos hecho buenas fotos. Este monje estaba rezando en uno de los templos que hemos visitado.
