I went with the photography group for an outing to Balestier Road. It was a very nice walk, and we all got great pictures. This monk was praying in one of the many temple we visited.

I didn't see this reflection on my first walk to Telok Ayer, so I went again since it is so close to the place where I have my meditation sessions on Wednesdays.

Most of the buildings in Singapore (except modern style ones) have this kind of roof. It took my many tries, but I finally took a pictures of them that I like.

And more mini-shrines. These ones were at the graves along the Fushimi Inari Taisha. It was interesting that some of these mini-shrines and other small statues wore a scarf... not sure of its meaning, any idea?

Most of the this kind of statues in temples, and some times it was just rocks, wore ribs like these ones. I assume it is a tradition or a belief... anybody knows why?

Muchas de las estatatuas en los templos, y algunas veces en piedras geandes, llevaban puestos estos baberos. Supongo que es una traducion o creencia.... alguien sabe porque?

I hadn't posted any picture yet, but we didn't miss the Fushimi Inari-taisha. Even tough we had already seen so many Shrines next to every temple, it was was very impressive to see this long path of shrines.

Aun no habia puesto ninguna foto, pero si que estuvimos en el Fushimi Inari-taisha. Aunque ya habiamos visto muchas de estas puertas (shrines) al lado de cada templo, empresionaba mucho ver todo este camino de shrines.

Kimonos are beautiful! If I ever return to Japan, I will at least rent one and wear it for a day. I though about buying one, but they are so expensive! and I'm not sure when I could wear it anyway.

Dragons are an important emblem of the Japanese culture, and can find them in every temple. This one was in our hiking in Kumara. It was a lovely area, and it wasn't crowded at all. But be prepared to climb all the stairs.

Los dragones son un simbolo en la cultura japonesa, y estan presente en todos los templos. Este lo vimos durante nuestro paseo en Kumara. Una zona muy bonita y sin mucha gente. Pero preparate para subir escaleras.

Since the cherry trees were already loosing its flowers, the floor was full of its petals.

I lost count of all the temples we visited in Kyoto, my goodness! Some really big and some much smaller. But if I'm not wrong, this one is somewhere in Gion neighborhood.

Perdi totalmente la cuenta de todos los templos que visitamos en Kyoto, madre mia! Algunos muy grandes y otros muy pequeños, pero si no recuerdo mal, este es de uno de los que estan en el barrio de Gion.

One of the must-visit in Kyoto is the Kinkaku-ji, or Golden Pavilion. No wonder why. Since it was a sunny and cloudless day, the reflection on the water was perfect.
We tried to get there early, to avoid the crowd, but between trains and buses (BTW, buses have a standard fee and it's paid when you leave the bus), we arrived there at 9am, and it already super-crowded.

Uno de las visitas obligadas en Kyoto es el Kinkaku-ji o Golden Pavilion (Pabellon dorado). No hay dudas de por que. Como ese dia habia sol y no habia ninguna nube, el reflejo en el agua era perfecto.
Intentamos llegar alli temprano, para evitar encontrar alli a mucha gente, pero entre trenes y autobuses (los autobuses tienen tarifa standar y se pagan a la salida), no llegamos alli hasta las 9 de la mañana, y ya esta lleno.

Finally in Japan! We've been 10 days in Kyoto, although the first and last day we were in Osaka, since it's closer to the airport.
Since it still was the cherry blossom period, the first thing we did was going to see it, before all the flowers dissapered. But actually, we got to see during many days, depending on the area.
This is Osaka's castle.

Por fin hemos ido a Japon! Hemos estado 10 dias en Kyoto, aunque el primero y ultimo fue realmente en Osaka, ya que esta mas cerca del aeropuerto.
Como aun era el periodo del "cherry blossom", lo primero que hicimos fue ir a algun sitio para verlo, antes de que se cayeran todas las flores. Aunque la verdad es que pudimos verlo durantes varios dias, dependiendo de la zona.
