Most of the this kind of statues in temples, and some times it was just rocks, wore ribs like these ones. I assume it is a tradition or a belief... anybody knows why?

Muchas de las estatatuas en los templos, y algunas veces en piedras geandes, llevaban puestos estos baberos. Supongo que es una traducion o creencia.... alguien sabe porque?

Last Monday I had a busy day. I resumed my Chinese class in the morning, and played mahjong for the first time in the afternoon, it was fun! In the evening I had a book club meeting, so I had a few spare hours, but it wasn't worth it to go home. Since the botanic garden is nearby were I was and it had stopped raining (yes! It started raining yesterday!!), a walk was a good option to spend my time.

El lunes pasado tuve un dia muy entretenido. Hemos vuelto a empezar con las clases de Chino por las mañanas, y por la tarde aprendi a jugar al mahjong, que divertido! Por la tarde tenia una reunion de un club de lectura, asi que tenia unas horas libres, y no merecia la pena irme a casa. Como el botanic garden esta cerca de donde estaba yo, y habia dejado de llover (si!! ayer empezo a llover!!), irme a dar un paseo por alli era una buena opcion.

I had to buy some treats to give to the dogs during the dogwalking, and I decided to walk to a nearby shopping mall and take some pictures on my way.
I thought these lions were decorated for the CNY, but they are not the only ones still wearing the red ribbons, so I guess it is for the whole year.

Tenia que comprar algo de comida para darle a los perros de la protectora durante nuestros paseos, asi que decidi dar un paseo hasta un centro comercial que no esta muy lejos, y asi hacer unas fotos por el camino.
Pensaba que estos leones estaban decorados para el Año Nuevo Chino, pero estos no son los unicos que aun llevan estos lazos rojos, asi que supongo que son para todo el año.

I had seen a picture of this fountain many times, but had no idea of where it was and how it had be done. So when I found it, I went and tried with the fish eye lens. This picture is not exactly the one I saw, since I could not go to the point it was taken.

Habia visto fotos de esta fuente, pero no sabia ni donde estaba ni como la habian hecho. asi que cuando finalmente la encontre, pense en ir y probar con el objetivo ojo de pez. Esta no es exactamente la foto que yo habia visto, pero no podia if al sitio desde el que probablemente la habian hecho.

I saw this waterwheel many times before, and finally went there with the camera. But taking this picture was not an easy task. Not only for the fact that the waterwheel is moving, but also because I had to take the picture from the escalator. So I had to go up and down several times, and the security guy looked at me suspiciously. I wasn't doing anything wrong, but made me feel uncomfortable and I left.

Habia visto esta noria varias veces, y el otro dia fui por fin con la camara. Pero hacer la foto fue mas dificil de lo que pensaba, porque ademas de que la noria se movia, la foto tuve que hacerla desde unas escalareas mecanicas. Asi que tuve que subir y bajar varias veces, y el de seguridad me empezo a mirarme de forma rara. No estaba haciendo nada malo, pero me sentia incomoda, asi que me fui.

Did I say I'm enjoy my new lens? hehe! A few weeks ago I was even thinking about quitting the project, but I am again full of enthusiasm :) It's taking me time to adapt to it, but it's fun. In this picture, I was actually trying to get a foreground of the cats, a statue I had never seen before.

He dicho ya lo bien que me lo estoy pasando con este objetivo? jeje! Hace unas semanas estaba incluso planteandome no terminar el proyecto, pero vuelvo a estar con las mismas ganas otra vez :) Me esta costando acostumbrarme a el, pero es divertido. En esta foto por ejemplo, mi idea era hacer un primer plano de los gatos, ya que era la primera vez que los veia.

This statue is just sooooo weird. I was told it was a gift from Indonesia, but that didn't give any clue either of its meaning. I just can't see the point of this huge floating baby.

Esta estatua es taaaaan rara. Por lo visto fue un regalo de Indonesia, aunque eso tampoco explica mucho. Soy incapaz de ver el sentido de un bebe enorme flotando.
