After the "cherry blossom hunting", it was turn of kimonos and geishas. And the best place for it was the neighborhood of Gion. It took us a while, but we finally met this couple of friends dressed as geishas. We had to "fight" with all the other tourists trying to get a good shoot too, but we got several nice pictures. This is one of my favorites. It's possible to see the back of one of them and the detail of her neck, and also see the face of the other one.

Despues de ir a la "caza del cerezo en flor", fue el turno de los kimonos y las geishas. Y el mejor sitio para encontrarlos es el barrio de Gion. Nos llevo un rato, pero al final encontramos a esta pareja de amigas vestidas como geishas. Aunque tuvimos que "pelearnos" con todos los demas turistas que tambien queria aprovechar la oportunindad, pudimos hacer varias buenas fotos. Esta es una de mis favoritas, ya que se puede ver la espalda de una de ella y el detalle del cuello, y tambien la cara de la otra.

One of the must-visit in Kyoto is the Kinkaku-ji, or Golden Pavilion. No wonder why. Since it was a sunny and cloudless day, the reflection on the water was perfect.
We tried to get there early, to avoid the crowd, but between trains and buses (BTW, buses have a standard fee and it's paid when you leave the bus), we arrived there at 9am, and it already super-crowded.

Uno de las visitas obligadas en Kyoto es el Kinkaku-ji o Golden Pavilion (Pabellon dorado). No hay dudas de por que. Como ese dia habia sol y no habia ninguna nube, el reflejo en el agua era perfecto.
Intentamos llegar alli temprano, para evitar encontrar alli a mucha gente, pero entre trenes y autobuses (los autobuses tienen tarifa standar y se pagan a la salida), no llegamos alli hasta las 9 de la mañana, y ya esta lleno.

As I said, first days were a "cherry blossom hunting", hehe! It was supposed to end on April 4th, so by the time we arrived, many trees had lost many flowers, but it was still beautiful. I also liked that lots of people were doing picnic under these trees.

Como ya he dicho, los primeros dias fueron "a la caza de los cerezos en flor", jeje! Se suponia que acabaria el 4 de abril, asi que cuando nosotros llegamos muchos arboles a habian perdido muchas flores, pero aun estaban muy bonitos. Me gusto mucho tambien que habia mucha gente haciendo picnics en los parques donde habia cerezos.

Finally in Japan! We've been 10 days in Kyoto, although the first and last day we were in Osaka, since it's closer to the airport.
Since it still was the cherry blossom period, the first thing we did was going to see it, before all the flowers dissapered. But actually, we got to see during many days, depending on the area.
This is Osaka's castle.

Por fin hemos ido a Japon! Hemos estado 10 dias en Kyoto, aunque el primero y ultimo fue realmente en Osaka, ya que esta mas cerca del aeropuerto.
Como aun era el periodo del "cherry blossom", lo primero que hicimos fue ir a algun sitio para verlo, antes de que se cayeran todas las flores. Aunque la verdad es que pudimos verlo durantes varios dias, dependiendo de la zona.

This gorgeous husky is Fang. She has been pending of adoption for a long time, but she is still at the dog shelter :(
